Shelter and treatment after the attack
27–28 May 1942
The wounded Kubiš found help in supporting households. The Piskáčeks summoned Lyčka and sheltered him through the night’s house searches.
Kubiš first went to the Novák apartment in Libeň. He then reached the Piskáčeks in Vysočany with an injured eye. Through Sokol collaborator Antonín Oktábec, Jaroslav requested a visit from Břetislav Lyčka, who treated the injury that evening.
Kubiš stayed at the Piskáčeks during a night when German authorities searched Prague. The families also arranged removal of the bicycle left in Libeň. Shelter, treatment and removal of items connected with the attack were distinct parts of the same practical assistance.
Meanwhile another refuge was opening in Resslova Street, with men from several teams arriving gradually. This is not one direct route from the bend to the crypt: it connects several households and other wanted parachutists.
Places

The extensive search continued. The decisive path to the refuge ran through Čurda’s testimony and violent interrogation of helpers.
