Effective 18 October 2026.
Operator and data controller: Ondřej Stanečka. Contact: hello@chronahistory.com.
You can explore without an account. Saved discoveries, reading progress, your chosen language and your measurement preference remain in your browser until removed. They are not visitor identifiers. You can remove reading data through the app or clear this website’s browser data. When no language is specified or saved, Cloudflare’s approximate country information selects Czech for the Czech Republic and English elsewhere. We do not request your device’s location or retain a country history. You can change language at any time.
Feedback you choose to submit is stored with the open story or profile’s title, selected period and receipt time. We use it to resolve problems and improve the service, based on the operator’s legitimate interest. Feedback is private and deleted after 90 days. Please do not include personal or sensitive information.
Measurements are collected only with your consent. Openings of public stories and profiles, approximate active reading time, chapter progression and feature use are immediately added to daily aggregates. We do not retain individual visits, persistent identifiers, search text, feedback contents or screen recordings. Aggregates are deleted after 12 months. The legal basis is your consent. You can decline or withdraw it at any time through More → Privacy and measurements. Refusal does not restrict browsing. Once combined, aggregates cannot be associated retrospectively with an individual.
If you email us, we process your sender address, message and related correspondence to answer your enquiry, based on legitimate interest. Porkbun forwards mail to the operator’s Gmail inbox (Google). Ordinary resolved correspondence is deleted within 90 days of closing the enquiry; a legal obligation may require necessary parts to be retained longer. These services may process email outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Cloudflare provides hosting and technical protection as a processor. Necessary delivery and protection of the service are based on our legitimate interest in a secure, functioning website. Connecting gives the provider your IP address and ordinary network information. IP addresses are temporarily used to limit abuse of forms, not as analytics identifiers. The application does not log feedback contents, search text or visitor addresses. Feedback is accessible to the operator and necessary processors for administering the service. We log only predefined error categories and maintenance outcomes; operational logs on Cloudflare’s free plan are retained for three days. Cloudflare may separately process network information for operation and security.
The feedback and aggregate database is restricted to the EU; processing of web requests across Cloudflare’s global network is not restricted to the EU. After deletion, recoverable database versions may remain available for the provider’s recovery window, currently seven days on the free plan. The operator’s private exports follow the same retention policy.
OpenFreeMap supplies the modern map; OpenStreetMap may be used as a fallback. Interface fonts are served directly by Chrona without contacting Google Fonts. IPR Prague supplies the historical plan. These services receive network information and requested resources; map requests may reveal the area being viewed. We do not request your device’s location.
Provider information: Cloudflare, Cloudflare processing terms, OpenFreeMap, OpenStreetMap, IPR Prague, Porkbun, Porkbun processing terms, Google (email). Cloudflare processes requests worldwide. Its processing terms govern transfers outside the EEA, including standard contractual clauses and the applicable EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Those terms describe the safeguards; you can also ask us for information.
Where applicable under the GDPR, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent. You also have the right to data portability within the law’s scope. We respond without undue delay, usually within one month; any lawful extension will be explained. Feedback and consent are optional. We do not make automated decisions with legal effects. Contact the operator to exercise your rights. You may also complain to the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.
